What I remember about the iPod Touch, which is really the iPhone without connection to a phone carrier network(Including The Un-Carrier), though calls can be done over wi fi, Apps were known for accumulating megabytes & rendering the device in some cases to be useless, even though Apple did offer 5 GB of Cloud Storage, it wouldn’t allow apps to have any storage in that cloud. So in the case of the app, I often had to remove the app.
So, when My Most Dear Friend aided me in the purchase of a Mobile Phone, it was powered by Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, back in 2013. I found that I could clean out the app, as well as store part of the app on cloud storage. It is better than removing the app and reinstalling it again.
I am in the market for a new mobile phone. Android 6.0 Marshmallow looks to to be what would be good, with more storage space on the phone.
Android is better regarding use of Storage Space than Apple is.
