Novus Ordoism Is Not All That Catholic

Novus Ordo Land, Star Date Saturday, January 27th, 2018:

I have a most close and exceptionally Dear Friend. She once asked me as to “Why does the Priest turn his back away from God.” In telling her that 6 Protestant Ministers were involved, My Most Dear Friend was totally enraged unto the point of Profound Fury.

I had gone to a “Novus Ordo Mass” of the Variety of no wine being consecrated by a Duly Ordained Priest, only because the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who supplied the wine, didn’t have any or thinking it wasn’t necessary. Something in the Order of The Mass was missing because a Priest is an “Alter Christus”, acting “In Persona Christi”. He is not a mere Presider of a Service, like a Protestant Minister is.

Unfortunately, I worry about the Liturgical Validity of this Mass due to the absence of the Wine to be consecrated into “Sanguinis Christi.” Even the Priest was miffed at the Actions of the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. This is what happens when radical changes to Liturgy occur.

Unlike The Tridentine Latin Mass & The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, which are both Sacrificial in Practice, with the Priest Facing Ad Orientem(East), The Novus Ordo Liturgy is where the Sacrificial Prayers were dramatically reduced to an Offering, using the 1st Night of Passover Prayer of the Jews. There are 17 Eucharistic Anaphorae(Canons) including a version of the Roman Canon(Eucharistic Prayer #1), minus the phrase “Mysterium Fidei”. The Novus Ordo is NOT your Grandparents Mass.

The Mass is NOT “All About You”, namely, laicized & feminized. It is a Sacrifice & must be manly as in The Holy Trinity. I now realize that when the Dumping of the Subdeacon from Holy Orders in the Latin Church occurred about 1966, it was done for Lay Participation, not a practice of the Latin Church. Married Deacons was never a Practice of the Latin Church either. Married Deacons are basically Eastern Church Practice.

Cantors are truly Eastern Church Practice, in the leading of the singing of Prayers. They often double as Readers of The Epistle. Cantors in the Byzantine Rite face East. Deacons proclaim the Gospel & chant parts of The Liturgy, when available.

I will be heading back to both the TLM and Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom in the Ukrainian Catholic Church, when I get out of Rehab+The Sacrament of Penance.
