For Two Hours this Past Sunday on The 4th Sunday of The Great Lent, I was on the Gregorian Calendar in The Byzantine Rite at the Russian Greek Catholic Chapel of St. Michael The Archangel, at 266 Mulberry Street in NOLITA(North of Little Italy), located in the Former Chancery of The RC Archdiocese of New York.
The Liturgy of the 1st 5 Sundays of Lent is the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil The Great(Bishop, Confessor, Martyr & Doctor of The Church). It is longer than that of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom(Bishop, Confessor & Doctor of The Church & Patron Saint of Preachers).
It was Two Hours of Wonder & Awe with the Singing of Prayers & Chants. It was offered by Fr Vladimir, Administrator of The Chapel for the RC Archdiocese of New York, & a Priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of Stamford, CT. Fr Vladimir is married.
Wisdom, Let Us Be Attentive
The Holy Gospel According To St. Mark, Evangelist & Apostle, tells the Story of Christ’s Disciples trying to expel a Demon from a Sick Man, who was also possessed. Jesus did expel the Demon from the man in question. He told His Disciples that in order to expel Demons, one must pray & fast, as Jesus did for 40 Days & Nights in The Desert.
Jesus did have His Severe Critics, namely The High Priests & Scribes, who accused Our Lord of Blasphemy & Sorcery. They had Little to No Faith in Jesus. Rather, they were Jealous.
Deo Gratias et Vivat Christus Rex
